As a group of God’s people we are reading through the Bible together.  By using the Life Journal reading schedule, we are on the same page… literally… everyday!  When you read that day’s reading you can know that others in the Norkenzie family are reading the exact same thing!  We may be miles apart, but we are having devotions together.

Why A Reading Schedule? 

Following a schedule is useful for sharing life.  We are journeying through the Scriptures together!  Beyond this, a reading schedule is important for systematically reading through the entire Bible.  Without a schedule you will most like gravitate to those passages in the Bible that you like the most, missing the richness of all of God’s Word.  The reading schedule found in the Life Journal is the best one we’ve found!  It is thoughtfully charted out, taking us through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice each year.

Why Journal? 

As we read God's Word, we begin to understand how God thinks about things. Daily reading God’s thoughts devotions transforms our minds and the way we think. During our days when we encounter situations described in the Bible, we find ourselves thinking the way God thinks and responding the way He would have us!

Journaling is an excellent way to both record and process what God has said to us. It's also a useful tool to use at a later time, to reflect on and review some of the insights that you have received. Without writing them down, you may forget those blessings and some very important lessons! And while journaling is a very personal time with the Lord, you may want to share some of your daily journaling with your small group or mentors. Through discussion, you may be able to look deeper into what God is speaking to you, gain new insight and even encourage others.
